Did You Know?
Allosaurus was the king of the Jurassic predators in North America. Even the giant plant eaters, such as Apatosaurus and Diplodocus, might not have been safe from the Allosaurus. Its powerful jaws held nearly 70 sharp, thick teeth. The claws on its three fingered hands measured up to 8 inches long.

Fun Fact

Allosaurus had a small set of horns on its head, about and in front of its eyes. They were likely covered by a Keratin sheath. Although they were fragile, they may have acted as sunshades to keep the sun out of their eyes, or as displays to attract mates.
