A fossilized Baryonyx was found with a fossilized meal in its stomach; this stomach contained fish scales, fish bones, and some partially digested bones of a young Iguanodon. It had 64 teeth in the lower jaw but only 32 teeth in the upper jaw (the upper teeth were larger than the lower teeth).

Baryonyx was found in Ockley, Surrey, England by an amateur fossil hunter, William Walker, who saw one of its claws sticking out of the side of a clay pit. Baryonyx had one especially large claw, thus the name “heavy claw”, measuring around 12 inches!
